Can You Stick To Your Resolutions?Veronica's Vibes
First thing is to realize that you are constantly in a pattern of what is called oscillation. For example, say you resolve to be on a low-calorie diet this year to lose that stubborn fats around the mid-area of our body. That works for awhile. But then you are drawn to some tasty cookies "just this once" or "because I've been so good with my diet," and then after that "cheat,"....just once, cheat, and then later you’ll find yourself off the diet. You oscillate between a strict diet, and a horrible binge. That's the way it is for most resolutions.

outstanding Indian philanthropists. In attendance from VT/CPRTV

Bears Super Bowl Champ ‘85 Otis Wilson.
According to biz guru R. Gelder, “We are on well worn paths that we are used to being on. We can resolve to be on a different path, but the path of least resistance, the one we're used to being on, draws us in.”
You can say, "I will exercise every day starting this year" but my old habits will rear their ugly head, and I'll sit out exercise "just this once" because today I don't have time, or because I am late for work, or a hundred other excuses.”
And the path of least resistance leads you back to sitting on your butt. That's what many people do. They oscillate between on extreme and another. Inevitably, they fall back to what they are used to, unless they do one vital thing.
What is that one thing you can do that will assure you that you stay on our newly resolved path to lose weight, exercise more, make more money, build our own business, whatever?
That missing thing you can do is to determine what you really, really want. And constantly look to that higher want when you are doing your day- to-day business. This is what values are all about. It isn't a trick. It isn't lying about "every day is getting better and better" when it isn't. This is about core truths.
