ABOUT OUR COVER

CINDY  FLORES, R.Ph.
Enjoying Retirement at 70 & Blessings of Life

For those of you who think retirement means sitting back in a rocking chair and reminiscing, you should check out Cindy Flores, R.Ph, to find out what sheʼs been doing since she closed her popular Cindyʼs Drugstore in 2008.

Cindy, in her golden years, continues to be very active. In fact her husband, Joe, claims she is even busier than before.  If she is not helping him with their assisted living business in southwestern Wisconsin, she is keeping herself busy with the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago as its immediate past president.

She also participates in the affairs of the Federation of Filipino-American Chambers of Commerce as its treasurer.   Recently, she joined a group of concerned homeowners  and community leaders in a demonstration (under the auspices of Mabuhay Alliance) in Washington, DC, to call attention to the plight of home foreclosure victims.

In addition to community service, she is also involved with the University of  Illinois College of Pharmacy Alumni Association as a board member.

NOBODY, NOBODY BUT JUAN
On Multiple AMC Theaters Nationwide

The Philippines’ King of Comedy, Dolphy, together with the Philippines’ No.1 Game Show Host, Willie Revillame, worked together for the first time in a movie. Directed by multi-talented Eric Quizon and co-starring Dolphy’s children Jeffrey and Vandolf, veteran actress Gloria Romero, and multi-awarded veteran actor Eddie Garcia, our finest Philippine actresses, Hart Evangelista, Giselle Toengi, Eugene Domingo, comedienne Pokwang, and introducing, Joe Aldeguer  (and as a co-Producer of the movie) and along with  other major stars in cameo roles.
The Philippines’ answer to the box-office Oscar winner, Slumdog Millionaire,  we expect this movie to be a blockbuster, as it promises to be one of the best films of the century, with the perfect formula - comedy, drama and music.

The movie is a star-studded project which entails a story of love, family and friendship. It’s a story of a person who has difficulty coping up with age while looking back to his roots in the Phils. and finding some answers on a TV show, which happens to be the no. 1 game show now in the Philippines, ‘Wowowee’

iShow Entertainment LLC and Joe Aldeguer’s Productions have partnered with AMC Theaters to be able to show this film nationwide for all Fil-Am Kababayans  in the U.S.A.
Due to the nature of the story of the movie that is more familiar with the Filipinos here in the US setting, there’s no doubt about it that this movie will be enjoyed by everybody with Dolphy’s legendary wit and his unforgettable acts in doing this movie and while celebrating his 65 years in Showbiz .

In the U.S, there are 11 AMC Theaters opening nationwide on Feb. 26, 2010 including AMC Cantera 30 in Warrenville, IL. The Pick Wick Theater in Chicago was scheduled initially before AMC approved the movie thus we had to cancel it due to conflict with Chicago AMC Theaters. There’s shouldn’t be no other theaters playing before AMC schedule. Recently, the AMC Loews Streets of Woodfield in Schaumburg, IL was approved and so with other two additional AMC Theaters that will open on March 5, 2010. Time and tickets will be under AMC’s policy and regulations.
