VIA TIMES is a monthly publication distributed FREE with a circulation of 60,000 to 70,000 in the Chicago Land area’s fastest growing ethnic group…the Filipino/Asian American market. This market is “the largest and wealthiest group of Asians in Chicago” (Chicago Tribune).  Via Times is considered to be one of the largest ethnic publications of its kind in the country with a more managed circulation program in key cities in the U.S., Canada and the Philippines.

Catering to a very significant, rich, and yet barely-tapped market, VIA TIMES’s avid readers are generally the adult members of the Filipino American families with an annual household income of $57,000…definitely a very significant group by any economic standards in the country. It is also the favorite publication of the very young and the growing young professionals for its updated articles catering to the youth. To date, the estimated number of Filipino American households in Chicago land has reached an amazingly high of more than 200,000.

Founded in August, 1984 by a dynamic-minded and visionary lady, Veronica Leighton (publisher/chief editor), VIA Times has reached the unsurpassed stature as the chronicler of “Vital News, Vibrant Views” of Filipinos and other Asian Americans in Chicago land. Its “cover-to-cover” appeal makes VIA Times the best-loved and much-awaited community newsmagazine all through its many years of existence.  Its hard-working and most talented editorial staff, columnists, and contributors are largely prominent members of the community and represent diverse, meaningful, and interesting viewpoints and

Orientations…just one of the reasons why VIA TIMES is a truly unique publication.
