CPRTV

The Chicago Philippine Reports TV (Via Times’ sister company in broadcast) is the” Filipino’s Choice for Television.”  The oldest (founded in 1990) surviving Filipino programming, it carries a magazine format kind of television show…. interviews, news (international & local), personality features, showbiz, cultural shows, religious & cooking, dancing & singing portions. It is currently being aired every Sunday, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM, on Channel 48, WFBT. It caters to the diverse and growing ethnic groups of Filipino/Asian Americans in Chicago land, but has also been attracting the viewer ship of the mainstream and other prominent ethnic markets.

VT/CPRTV tandem is one of a unique kind. It’s the first and only print/broadcast ethnic (Filipino) media in America that has survived for many years and is being efficiently run by a woman, Ms. Veronica Leighton.

Filipino Americans make up an impressive segment of the nation’s economic and social mainstream. In the latest tri-state estimate (Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana), the number of Filipino American households has grown to 421,000 with amazingly high average grow income of $57,000 per household annually (“…the largest and wealthiest group of Asians.”…Chicago Tribune) Majority of the Filipino Americans in the U.S. are professionals in major fields of endeavor.
